What is Dental Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a technique where very fine needles are used to cure or alleviate diseases or their symptoms.

Basically, it's an extra tool for Dentists to use to help patients.

Acupuncture has been used in China for the past 3-4000 years.

What does Acupuncture feel like?

Patients report a warm, numb, relaxing sensation. This is called the 'De-qui sensation'. Patients also report feeling tiredness, light-headed or eurphoric, often with an instant improvement in symptoms.

How many treatments are required?

This depends on the condition being treated. An acute injury may only require one or two treatments. Whereas a chronic, longstanding condition will require more treatments.
The average is six treatments, with patients contacting the clinic if and when they require a 'top up'.
Acupuncture can also be combined with other conventional therapies to give a synergistic effect.
